SATURDAY
8:30AM – 10:30AM - Family Graveyard Cleaning
No Cost • Water will be provided.
The annual graveyard clean up is a great way to help maintain the Graveyard and to learn, visit and get to know one another. We encourage you to bring cleaning tools you found useful in years past.
11: 00AM - Noon - Jefferson on Display: Attire, Etiquette and the Art of Presentation
No Cost – Please reserve your spot. Visitor's Center Double Classroom
Gaye Wilson will discuss her new book about Thomas Jefferson and how he presented himself to the world.
11:00 - Noon – Mountaintop Youth activity
No Cost – Please reserve your spot. Meet at the classrooms.
The Monticello Education or Archeology department will lead a youth activity for school age children, last year’s event was very successful and the children had a great time.
1:30 – 2:30PM - Discussion of the South Wing Restoration
No Cost – Please reserve your spot. Visitor's Center Double Classroom
The Curatorial Team will fill us in on restoration efforts.
Free time to explore the exterior spaces at Monticello.
5:30 – 8:00PM - Evening Reception & Monticello House Tours
Monticello South Lawn/North Lawn - shuttle form the Visitor's Center
Cost: $45 for adults and $15 for children under 13
For many, this is the highlight of the weekend! As in years past, we will have drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Tours inside Monticello will be available starting at 6:30, after which we will be gathering on the back steps of Monticello for our family picture.
8:00 – 10:00PM - Dinner in courtyard - Monticello Visitor’s Center
Cost: $45 for adults and $15 for children under 13
This year’s menu includes: Sesame Citrus Chicken, Herb Roasted Salmon and Baked Chicken fingers for the kids. Side dishes of Smoky Roasted Potatoes and Tomato-Cucumber-Spinach Salad. Dessert selection of Chocolate Toffee Bites, Mini Ginger Crinkle Cookies and Mini Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.
SUNDAY
10:30AM - Graveyard Service
Association members and their guests will assemble at the family graveyard to remember family members, place flowers on graves and to pay tribute to Mr. Jefferson and all others who are buried there.
11:00am - Annual Meeting Business and Luncheon
Monticello Visitors Center – Lower Level Classroom • Cost: $15
Buffet style selection of sandwiches, salads and desserts.
