The Collected Papers of the Monticello Association
| In anticipation of its fiftieth anniversary, the
Monticello Association in 1958 named a committee to prepare a book for publication.
Instead of limiting its edition to members, the Association adopted the viewpoint that a
large audience should have the benefit of the Collected Papers. In refining form fifty
years of its Annual reports biographical, genealogical and historical information,
contributors to these volumes have sought to incorporate the fruits of recent scholarship
and to provide a thorough index to the whole. The second volume was completed to coincide with the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of the conclusion of the War of American Independence. Both Volumes One and Two of the Collected Papers are unusual in that the authors are descendants of Thomas Jefferson. Some of these authors are scholars by profession; others are amateurs. The following tables show the contents of each Volume.
